BEKİR PAKDEMİRLİ (PhD): "WE ARE IN SUDAN TO ENSURE FOOD SECURITY"
On the last day of his visit to Sudan, Minister Pakdemirli visited agricultural lands and the sugar and feed factories. The Turkish delegation headed by Bekir Pakdemirli met with the great interest of the public. The crowd shouted slogans of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir and showed great sympathy to the delegation. Emphasizing that Turkey and Sudan have a brotherhood for centuries, "We are in Sudan to ensure food security," Minister Pakdemirli said.
On the last day of his visit to Sudan, observing agricultural lands by helicopter and on-site and examining sugar and feed factories, Minister Pakdemirli stated "We achieved considerable progress on the implementation of cooperation on agriculture and livestock between Turkey and Sudan".
Model Farm, Model Production
Minister Bekir Pakdemirli stated that they came to Sudan with a great delegation and added, "We finally got our land, we will receive this land completely from the Sudanese government by November, and as the Turkish government we will take every step to establish the model farm and to start model production."
"Products Will Also Be Shipped To Third Countries"
Emphasizing that Turkey and Sudan have a brotherhood for centuries Minister Bekir Pakdemirli, "The aim of this production will not only benefit to Turkey, but also to Sudanese. These products will also be shipped to third countries. We have taken steps in various issues between Turkey and Sudan during our visit. We signed new agreements," Minister Pakdemirli said.
"We Are Here For You"
Minister Bekir Pakdemirli also participated in the event organized for the beginning of hijri year in Sennar and conveyed President Erdoğan's regards to Sudanese people; "When I became the Minister nearly two months ago, our President's first order to me was " We have brothers in Sudan, go there and collaborate with them. So we are here for you." he said.
One Of The Reasons For Us To Be Here Is Food Security Of Sudan
Minister Pakdemirli underlined that Turkey has also large areas of land and they are in Sudan to ensure food security. He concluded his speech with the following statement: "There are many countries in the world investing to ensure food security. One of our reasons is this however we are here not only to do business but also to decrease the welfare gap between Turkey and our Sudanese brothers".
