Minister Pakdemirli, who spoke at the opening of the 15th Food Fair with the 10th Agriculture, Agricultural Technologies and Livestock Fair in Gaziantep, spoke as follows: "Gaziantep could be locomotive for processed food. We are seventh in the world in agricultural products, but we are not in a good position in processed foods. We are not even in the first 15."
10th Agriculture, Agricultural Technologies and Livestock Fair (GAPTARIM) and 15th Food Fair (GAPFOOD) were opened in Gaziantep with the participation of Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli.
Minister Pakdemirli, who spoke at the opening in Middle East Exhibition Center, stated that Turkey is a very deep-rooted culture and putting forward their revenues in this sense of the city underlined the need to achieve.
Minister Pakdemirli pointed out that, Gaziantep has started to show itself in the field of gastronomy but it should also attract tourists from the foreign market.
Pakdemirli stated that Gaziantep has an important potential in terms of processed food as well as industrial and commercial city and continued his speech "Gaziantep can be the locomotive of processed food. We are seventh in the world in agricultural products, but we are not in a good position in processed foods. We are not even in the top 15. There is a lot of progress in this sense. Gaziantep is an important place in this regard."
Mr. Pakdemirli stated that Turkish people are entrepreneurs and fairs are very important for the meeting of the stakeholders of the sector.
Minister Pakdemirli and the accompanying protocol members visited the stands by opening the fair.
