Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli participated in the program held in Duatepe, Polatlı for the celebration of the 98th anniversary of Sakarya Victory.
Expressing that each of the areas where the historical epics were written have been declared national park and protected by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Minister Pakdemirli said that historical national parks were the victory memorials of the fields of the heroes. "These areas, where the Battle of Sakarya took place, have also hosted an enormous historical fabric. Most of the historical national parks managed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry are the areas which were subjected to war and have witnessed the recent war history. These areas are; Başkomutanlık (Commander-in-Chief) Historical National Park, Nenehatun Historical National Park, Battle of Sakarya Historical National Park, KOP Mountain Historical National Park, Battle of Manzikert Historical National Park, Independence Road Historical National Park."
Minister Pakdemirli stated that the works for reclamation of martyrdoms as well as infrastructure and superstructure facilities had been continuing. Administrative visitor centers and panoramic museums had also been built in order to raise our nation's consciousness of history and place the sense of belonging to the hearts of future generations.
'SAKARYA VICTORY IS OUR FREEDOM AND FUTURE'
Minister Pakdemirli emphasized how important Sakarya Victory was for freedom and future. "Sakarya Victory, is a turning point for Independence War. Sakarya is the last stage before the final victory! Sakarya, the refusal of the mandate, is the ticket of freedom! Sakarya is the inspiration of our victories! Sakarya is the last exit before the bridge! Sakarya, in short, is our independence, future; resistance and revival!"
'PLACES KEEP OUR MEMORIES ALIVE'
Minister Pakdemirli also emphasized the importance of our historical places. "As we all know, it is really important to keep our experiences and our memories alive. We know that the lands we step on are not just soil but also our history. We should always remember that places keep our memories alive! For this reason, we will protect these parks, we will visit them more! We will draw more and more attention to them!"
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli also made an invitation. 'We invite all our citizens here, especially our young people, to our Agriculture and Forestry Council, which will be held in October. Sharing your ideas with us, and making your presence felt will make us stronger in every step we take! In addition, as the Ministry, with 'For a Greener Turkey' slogan, on November 11, at 11:11 a.m., with events in 81 cities, will plant 11 million saplings, altogether with both our young and old hands.
