Prof. Dr. Vahit Kirişçi was appointed as the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry by the appreciation and approval of our Honourable President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Prof. Dr. Vahit Kirişci took over the new task from the former Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Dr. Bekir Pakdemirli with a ceremony held in the Ministry Headquarters.
The ceremony in the ministry was held with the participation of deputies, bureaucrats and ministry employees. In his speech here, Kirişci expressed his gratitude to the former Minister Mr. Pakdemirli on behalf of himself and the nation.
Stating that there was no area that the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has not touched, Mr. Kirişci said that agriculture is an important sector in this period when global climate change has become a current topic. He also mentioned about the importance of forestry sector and policies related to agriculture, forestry and water issues.
On the other hand, Mr. Pakdemirli pointed out the actions during his ministry and expressed his belief that the Minister Kirişci would achieve better success during his term.
Later, the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Prof. Dr. Vahit Kirişci came to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey for the oath ceremony. He took the oath in the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and started his duty. After taking the oath, the Minister Kirişci answered the questions of journalists.
