a) Determination of the principles and targets regarding the efficient use of water and water saving, and to carry out studies to determine strategies and policies,
b) Carrying out research&development studies on efficient use of water and addressing the water efficiency issues,
c) Carrying out research&development, planning, and incentive studies on water saving, water loss control, water footprint, water reuse and suchlike water efficiency issues.
d) Preparing water efficiency strategy document and following up its implementations,
e) Assessment and reporting the water losses on drinking water supply and distribution systems and the assessment of irrigation facilities on basin scale,
f) Following and reporting national and international studies on the subjects within the scope of the division, preparing legislations and guidance documents on needed issues or to have them prepared, to carry out or have training studies,
g) Performing other duties assigned by the Head of Department.
