Bekir PAKDEMİRLİ, PhD.
MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE AND FORESTRY
He was born in 1973 in İzmir. After graduating from Bilkent University, Faculty of Business Administration, he completed his Master's Degree in Management at Başkent University and his PhD degree in Economics at Celal Bayar University.
He worked as a free entrepreneur in the fields of food, agriculture, livestock, technology and automotive. He also served in the foundation and management of various companies. He was appointed as a General Manager in a company which takes part among the first 500 industrial corporation and in a public food company. After serving as a senior manager in an international food company, he provided consultancy services again for the same company.
He acted as a board member for "Turkcell", "BİM" and Participation Bank "Al-Baraka". With regard to the activities for social responsibility; he still is a board member for Historic Kemeraltı Inc. and also Turkish Mental Health and Therapy Association, as well as, he is a member of Board of Trustees of Anatolia Autism Foundation and a member of Capital Markets Investors Association.
He is a captain, a pilot and an amateur radio operator.
He speaks English.
He is married and father to three children.
