Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Prof. Dr. Vahit Kirişci participated in the World Food Day program organized with the theme "Leaving No-one Behind" at CerModern Centre. Minister Kirişci mentioned about the reality of hunger and poverty throughout the World, in his speech.
Pointing out that there are more than 3.1 billion people who do not have access to healthy nutrition, Kirişci emphasized that more than 830 million people are struggling with hunger.
Kirişci said, "We will use our natural resources wisely, we will increase productivity in agricultural production and we will never waste. We cannot ignore our responsibilities to reduce the destruction of the crises experienced all over the world and to minimize food loss and waste. Prosperous states must also consider countries that are struggling with hunger or do not have adequate infrastructure."

He stated that they enabled the opening of the Grain Corridor from Ukraine with the Istanbul Agreement under the leadership of Turkey, and that the aim here is not only to secure the food supply chain, but also to contribute to world peace for the peace and security of all humanity.
Noting that the Grain Corridor should be further strengthened, Kirişci emphasized that it should be a corridor of humanity and goodness showing solidarity with the countries struggling with hunger.
Kirişci stated that they have determined a roadmap for agricultural production, the first link of the food supply chain, and explained that they will transform production into a composition that will overlap with the strategic needs of the country, and that they will activate investments and supports in this direction.
Underlining that they have taken new steps to further strengthen the food supply chain in the country against risks, Kirişci reminded that they established the Department of Food Supply Security within the Ministry.
After the opening speeches, special awards for "World Food Day" were presented to their owners.
