The opening of the "Smart Agricultural Technologies Workshop" of Turkey–The Association of Agricultural Research Institutions in the Near East and North Africa (AARINENA) was made by Prof.Dr. Adil Omer Salih Abdelrahim, President of The Association of Agricultural Research Institutions in the Near East and North Africa (AARINENA), and Ihsan ASLAN, Deputy Director General of TAGEM, on 30 September 2021. In their opening speeches, they presented their evaluations on Smart-Precision Agricultural Technologies, mentioned about the importance of bilateral cooperation and studies in this field, and made wishes for the workshop to be productive.
The workshop brought together our country's active academics, researchers and private sector representatives in the field of Smart-Precision Agricultural Technologies to share the experiences of the representatives of the Near East, Middle East and North African countries Jordan, Kuwait, Egypt, Sudan, Morocco and Tunisia and to have an exchange of ideas.
Assoc. Dr. Ilhan AYDIN, Deputy Director General of TAGEM, pointed out the importance of biomass with his presentations titled "Sustainable Biomass Use to Support the Development of the Turkish Economy on the Path to Green Growth" and stated that the tendency for improving the use of biomass for the sustainable use of resources has increased.Then, Turkey - The Association of Agricultural Research Institutions in the Near East and North Africa (AARINENA) "Smart Agriculture Technology Workshop" was concluded with the participation of faculty members of Agriculture Faculty of Ankara University, Ege University and Uludag University; our researchers working at TAGEM Soil, Fertilizer and Water Resources Central Research Institute, Atatürk Soil, Water and Agricultural Meteorology Research Institute, International Agricultural Research and Training Center, GAP Agricultural Research Institute, Soil, Water and Desertification Research Institute; Director General of Agricultural Reform; KIRAC, GEOSYS, AVEO Private Sector representatives and the presentations on Smart-Precision Agriculture.
