A delegation of 3 persons from National Academy of Ukraine Agricultural Sciences (NAAS), organized a study visit to our Directorate General between the dates of September 18-20, 2017 in accordance with program theme arranged for the purpose of identifying the projects that may be conducted in agricultural fields together with Agricultural Research Institutes coordinated by our Directorate General.
Our Director-General, Dr. Nevzat BİRİŞİK, accepted the delegation and a presentation about the research system, operation, activities and centers of our institution was made and relevant questions of the delegation were replied. Later, visit of delegation in Field Crops Central Research Institute started in Turkish Seed Gene Bank and the delegation was informed on the status of plant genetic resources in our country and ex-situ conservation. Then, molecular biology and tissue culture laboratories in Biotechnology Research Center were observed and information was given on the conducted R&D studies. Finally, the delegation was informed about the analysis and studies carried out related to Quality Assessment and Food Department. Following the visit of institutes and departments, the project proposals were tried to be developed by discussing the topics related to the studies and researches that could be carried out jointly by the delegates and the researchers of the Field Crops Central Research Institute, Trakya Agricultural Research Institute and Eastern Anatolia Agricultural Research Institute for Field Crops.
On the second day of the program, a visit was organized to Batı Akdeniz Agricultural Research Institute and the delegation was informed about the institute and the studies performed and relevant questions of the delegation were replied. Later, the fruit gardens were demonstrated to the delegation. Then, the ideas were exchanged on the project that may be conducted by means of trying to identify the joint study areas with the participation of the researchers of Sakarya Maize Research Institute as well.
On the third day of the program, a visit was organized to Eğirdir Fruit Research Institute. The delegation was informed about the institute and the studies performed and fruit breeding gardens were demonstrated to the delegation. Later, we tried to develop project proposals
