Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli, PhD. will attend the Meeting of the G20 Agriculture Ministers, which will take place on 26-28 July 2018 in Buenos Aires, the capital city of Argentina.
Its topic being "soil" this year, during the first two days of the meeting Senior Officials technical meetings will take place. Ministerial Meeting on the other hand will take place on 27-28 June with the participation of Agriculture Ministers and Authorized Representatives from the member countries.
Agriculture Ministers Meeting which will take place in San Martin Palace will start with a family photo. Minister Pakdemirli addressing the General Assembly here will make a speech on "The importance of soil and combatting desertification". Pakdemirli will present his thanks to Argentina Term Presidency for allocation of a special section for the "Loss and Waste of Food".
During the second day of the meeting, International Exhibition for Livestock, Agriculture and Industry will be organized. The Agriculture Ministers Meeting will conclude with a joint press conference.
Minister Pakdemirli will have bilateral meetings with Agriculture Ministers of some countries, EU Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development and FAO Director-General.
G20 targets providing political cooperation, encouraging settings to reduce risks and potential financial crises, and providing modernization of international financial structure for global economic stability and sustainable growth. While 85% of the global Gross Domestic Product, 75% of the world trade volume and 80% of the agricultural product trade take place in G20 countries, about 65% of the World population and 60% of the agricultural lands are in these countries.
Besides Turkey, the following G20 members will be present at the meeting: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, United Kingdom, USA ad EU, besides Turkey. Representatives of the invited countries and institutions will also attend the G20 meeting.
