Bekir Pakdemirli (PhD), Minister of Agriculture and Forestry has realized series of examinations and contacts in Izmir by explaining the forecast of "1.5 million tons of olive is expected to be harvested for 2018-2019 olive harvest".

Bekir Pakdemirli (PhD), Minister of Agriculture and Forestry reminded that Turkey is second after Spain in the world in the field of table olives and fourth in the olive oil and added "Olive production has reached from 600 thousand to 846 thousand hectares, if you ask me it is not enough. "We Need to Think Harder about the Olive Export"
Bekir Pakdemirli, (PhD) said that " Exports in the olive need to be increase. We are the second in the world, but we can be the leader in this area. Work on olive sector will continue. According to the studies carried out in 2018-2019, there are 1.5 million tons of yield and it is assumed that 1 million 77 thousand tons of oil, 423 thousand tons of table olive and, 193 thousand tons of olive oil are expected to come out ."
"We must create added a valuable global brand of agricultural products in Turkey. In Naples, Italy, the people buy tomatoes, dry them and sell them for 25 euros. We have to do something to catch this added value. We need to use all modern techniques. "
Penalties for Adulterated Products
