The VRSCC has carried out the following duties and responsibilities within the framework ofSeed Law No 5553 and Law No 5042 on Protection of Breeders' Rights for New Plant Varieties; - to register new plant varieties
- to conduct field and laboratory tests (distinctness, uniformity, stability tests and the tests for measurement of agricultural values) related to candidates of new varieties
- to conduct field controls and laboratory tests of seeds intended for exportation, to issue OECD and ISTA certificates for seeds included in the OECD System and issue OECD labels
- to issue labels for domestic seed production
- to carry out activities related to the control and certification of seeds of varieties that are registered or given production permission and published in the National List of Varieties
- to keep the characteristics of documents, registration reports, protocols, standard samples, preservable plant and plant parts, pictures and slides of the varieties that are registered and published in the Official Journal
- to prepare the variety catalogs of the varieties that are registered
- to carry out technical services in relation to variety preservation / plant breeders' rights
- to establish and evaluate preliminary, final and variety control tests for seeds classified as original and certified in the certification system
- to conduct and evaluate domestic referee tests for certification laboratories and conduct the referee tests periodically sent by ISTA
· to carry out services for certification of fruits and vine saplings produced in our country · to organize meetings for registration of new plant varieties that are bred in or outside of the country and varieties imported from foreign countries, and to register them in the log, accordingly · to carry out training activities and make publications in relation to the topics of the activities. |
