H.E. PAKDEMİRLİ (PhD): 'We will make all effort as much as we can in order to meet the needs of Turkish businessmen in Sudan'

H.E. Bekir PAKDEMİRLİ (PhD), the Minister of Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey, have made an official visit to Sudan in order to have some contacts and have held a meeting together with businessmen.
In the meeting, H.E. Bekir PAKDEMİRLİ (PhD) said that 'we, as the Republic of Turkey, would make all effort as much as we could in order to meet the needs of Turkish businessmen in Sudan so that they could do their business in a safe and proper environment'.
Within Sudan official visit, H.E. Bekir PAKDEMİRLİ (PhD), the Minister of Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Republic of Turkey, has started to the visits and have met with the businessmen.
H.E. Bekir PAKDEMİRLİ (PhD), the Minister of Republic of Turkey of Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, said that they attached importance to cooperation between Republic of Turkey and Sudan and added that some conditions such as good investment environment, proper legal infrastructure and safe and good security environment has to be provided so as to do business with a country.
H.E. Bekir PAKDEMİRLİ (PhD) also expressed that
'There may be some shortcomings on this side, but these shortcomings create also some opportunities. There are some businessmen who spent their years here for ages and also are running huge agricultural holdings. Sudan considerably needs agricultural equipment and machines. We will discuss with them on how to establish their relationships on the side of government and private sector. We, as the Republic of Turkey, would make all effort as much as we could in order to meet the needs of Turkish businessmen in Sudan so that they could do their business in a safe, secure and proper environment'
After that H.E. Bekir PAKDEMİRLİ (PhD) has met with a Sudanese delegation being composed of Sudanese Ministers in the president of H.E. Mohammed Osman al-Rikabi, Finance Minister of Sudan.
Hereby, H.E. Bekir PAKDEMİRLİ (PhD) expressed his special gratitude to Sudan side for gathering friendly and brother nations' representatives. H.E. Bekir PAKDEMİRLİ (PhD) emphasized that H.E. Umar al-Bashir, President of Sudan, was one of the first telephone callers for H.E. Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN, President of Republic of Turkey, after traitor coup attempt on 15 July, and added that H.E. Umar al-Bashir expressed his grief and gave a message of solidarity via telephone.
H.E. Bekir PAKDEMİRLİ (PhD) indicated that Sudan government published a solidarity message and said that 'Sudan people showed their supports for our country by organising public demonstration and meetings. Sudan government is in solidarity and make cooperation on destruction of activities of Fethullah Gülen Terrorist Organization/Parallel State Structure (FETO/PDY) in Sudan.
Dr. PAKDEMİRLİ expressed his special gratitude to Sudan for their supports for Republic of Turkey and said that the meetings will significantly contribute to increase in foreign trade volume between two countries as well as development and identification of agricultural investment areas
Dr. PAKDEMİRLİ pointed out that more efforts should be made to improve trade between the two countries, and he said that 'I consider that it is very important to the development of contacts and business associations of our private sectors cooperation in terms of improving and deepening trade between our countries'
He noted that Sudan is one of the most important partner countries of Republic of Turkey with a comprehensive relationship and business partnership in Africa. Dr. PAKDEMİRLİ reported that the trade volume between the two countries was about $ 481 million, which is well below the potential of the two countries.
Minister Dr. PAKDEMİRLİ called for businessmen from both States so as to increase trade volume between countries.

Dr. Bekir PAKDEMİRLİ stated that they are encouraging Turkish businessmen for investment possibilities and evaluations of economic potential in Sudan and said that there are many cooperation areas between Sudan and Republic of Turkey such as transportation, energy, irrigation and animal husbandry
Minister Dr. PAKDEMİRLİ underlined that Turkey is a very important agricultural country, and he added that we, as a country, are in a very good position in terms of agricultural information, experiences, equipment and technology. With the principle of win-win, we consider that there are opportunities for working together to produce prosperity and to make available for Sudan by presenting the vast and fertile farmland of Sudan. We think that there are cooperation opportunities between Sudan, where the most fertile lands are in the world and Republic of Turkey to increase agricultural productivity and we continue to make effort hard to carry out a large common agricultural project under the framework agreement that we signed in 2014.
