H. E. PAKDEMİRLİ paid a field visit to an enterprise within the scope of his Sudan program.
Having taken closer look at the agricultural products which the company exhibited following the promotional presentation of the officials from the enterprise; H. E. PAKDEMİRLİ made some remarks.
Having recalled the agricultural cooperation agreement signed between Turkey and Sudan, H. E. PAKDEMİRLİ has told that they had talks on this issue in Sudan.
Having stated that the company exhibited the products it may export; H. E. PAKDEMİRLİ has noted that they are not interested in such a wide range of products but in terms of banana imports, 5 thousand tons of quota allocated for Turkey could be increased.
Having pointed out that many countries namely England, China, USA and France resort to land tenure in Africa in order to ensure prudential food supply; H. E. PAKDEMİRLİ spoke as:
"We are trying to do the same mainly in Sudan. We have recently initiated contract farming. Moreover, there are remarkable developments regarding cotton. During this visit and the following days we will rapidly enhance agricultural cooperation with Sudan. We are here with numerous delegates. We have around 40 businessmen with us. They are all looking into capabilities here. We will be taking action soon."
Following the field visit, H. E. PAKDEMİRLİ, along with İrfan NEZIROĞLU, Ambassador to Khartoum, paid a visit to Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) Sudan-Turkish Vocational and Technical Trainers Education Center and was informed about the Center.
