Mr. Pakdemirli, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, said "Forest residues are used to generate heat and hot water in biofuel facility in Eskisehir province."
Pakdemirli visited Biofuel Heating Facility installed by the Ministry in Eskisehir, Alpu which now provides energy to heat the mosque and mansion in the village.
During his visit to the village, Minister Pakdemirli firstly planted walnut and lavender in the area designated to produce income-generating types for the forest villagers. After that, the Minister and his entourage got information about the biofuel facility.
FOREST RESIDUES TRANSFORMED INTO ENERGY
Pakdemirli stated that forest residues are used to generate heat and hot water in the facility and added as follows:
"We built a good facility in this beautiful village. This facility generates heat, namely source of hot water, with forest residues. Also, it produces methane gas. Self-sufficiency and to keep people in the villages are very important issues. We tried it before nursery in Eskişehir and now the system is being implemented in this village. The mansion and mosque of the village are being heated sustainably and self-sufficiently within the principles of permaculture considering that one output of something can be used as the input of another thing without leaving no waste on the environment. This facility will provide hot water for 18 months. After that, these materials will become fertilizer. Then natural fertilizer can be used in the farmlands in this vicinity. It will also produce gas and it means that people can run generators with the gas produced in this facility when the electricity is cut-off. We would like to increase the number of such good practices and pilot projects."
GERMANY USED THIS TYPE OF SYSTEM DURING WW2 TO
Pakdemirli emphasized that the main reason for such projects is to introduce pilot projects to the people with the support of government and added "It does not require extra cost, because we have trees and branches. It is possible to generate heat by crushing and cutting hays with a machine. The Germans used this system to generate heat during WW2. They used this system by laying pipes to heat their houses. We should use such type of systems to get maximum efficiency with low cost.
Minister also added that Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry will continue to support such projects to increase pilot projects. The important thing is to spread such pilot projects to have chance to villagers to implement them.
Minister Pakdemirli also received a briefing about the treatment of waste water project used in the same village.
Minister Pakdemirli talked with the citizens and took a photo with the peoples living in the village.
