In Ankara, where intensive winter conditions are experienced, food supplement was provided to wild animals by the General Directorate of Nature Protection and National Parks.
In order to assist sustainable wildlife and ecological balance, the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, carries out its nationwide feeding efforts to help wild animals find nutrients in adverse weather conditions. Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks teams, carried out feeding to support the wild life affected by intense snow and frost throughout the province and especially in Kızılcahaman Cold Water National Park.
Erdem İsmetoğlu, Deputy General Director of Nature Protection and National Parks of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, gave information about the feeding. Ismetoglu said: "Difficult winter conditions, and during the periods of intense snowing it is more difficult for wild animals to find food. Because of this situation, some of the wild animals even go further through residential areas to look for food. Feeding work continues through 15 regional directorates across the country. We have many carnivorous and herbivorous wild animals in the Cold Water National Park. Today's feeding work will be realized only for herbivorous ones and bird. We will fed the carnivorious wild animals in other periods."
In Turkey, 300 tons of feed and food per year is left in the nature for feding purposes and in Ankara 30 tons of feed meets with wild animals.
