Bekir Pakdemirli (PhD), Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, in the Conference in which he has participated in Berlin, said that 'they admired pilot projects in the field of agriculture implemented by Republic of Turkey, by pointing out that he mentioned the projects in the field of agricultural technology implemented by Republic of Turkey to the participants.
Minister Pakdemirli made a press statement to Turkish press about his visit, in Embassy of Republic of Turkey in Berlin, Germany, after he participated in Agriculture Ministers' Conference which was organised in scope of 10th Global Forum for Food and Agriculture.
Bekir Pakdemirli (PhD) said that he and German Chancellor Angela Merkel had the opportunity to meet even though meeting took a very short time, by expressing that he participated in the Conference, due to official invitation of Julia Klöckner, Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture of Federal Republic of Germany.
Minister Pakdemirli (PhD) expressed that he chaired a Conference on structural changes in agriculture and rural area, and he made a bilateral meeting with German Minister Klöckner and they signed Memorandum of Understanding establishing an Agriculture Steering Committee.
Bekir Pakdemirli (PhD), Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, added that
'We had an opportunity to mention very valuable pilot project on technology we implemented in Turkey, in scope of this Conference. When they heard that it is a first in the world, they all welcomed admirably this issue, including many EU countries and they said to us that Can you tell us about these issues? We said to them that we are ready to share our important projects, especially in the field of agriculture and livestock.'
'YOU COULD NOT HANDLE SO MUCH WORK, EVEN IF YOU GO TO 15 COUNTRIES'
Minister Pakdemirli (PhD) expressed that he had a very busy meeting traffic and in this context, he had met with officials from Japan, Belarus, China, Ukraine, Georgia, Kosovo, Romania, Slovenia and South Sudanese as well as European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety.
Bekir Pakdemirli (PhD) said that we would have completed our official visits after meeting with officials from France and Netherland in dinner tonight. I give more importance to such an official visits. Even if you go to 15 countries, you could not handle so much work. We took the opportunity to meet with Ministers, high level delegations and senior officials of international organisations. We, on behalf of Republic of Turkey, met and exchanged views and built consensus with our counterpart on the subjects of agriculture, livestock, forestry and irrigation. Accordingly, I consider these meetings very positively.
The most welcomed project amongst the others by the officials of other countries is test study on electronic earrings use for bovine animals which is produced with domestic technology. Thanks to electronic earrings, information on data such as heat period, daily life, monitoring, counting, slaughtering of bovine animals could be obtained instantly.
