Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli, PhD., participated in the opening of the 4th "Sivrihisar Air Show 2019" event held in Sivrihisar and made a flight with a P-51 D Mustang airplane to support Turkish aviation.
Speaking at the opening of the event, Minister Pakdemirli pointed out the importance of Civil Aviation and said: "Turkey should be in better levels in the field of aviation. We always need to give support the development of civil aviation and to bring it to better levels. In fact, this hobby seems to be an expensive hobby, but it is possible to buy at a car price and fly cheaply. We just need to make things a little easier in our country. We just need to make it a little possible."
Pakdemirli, who has been in civil aviation for about 35 years, said, "WhenI look at the number of planes, we are not even one in 20 of America. I guess we have 500-600 planes in this area. We need to increase the number of these planes. If we are a country capable of building an armed unmanned air vehicle today, one of the main reasons for this is the model airplanes you have seen here, "he said.
I WANT MY 4 KIDS TO BE PILOTS TOO
Minister Pakdemirli, who stated that he was also a pilot in his speech, said: "I started Civil Aviation at an early age. I flew model planes first. I'm your parachutist, a pilot brother. Civil aviation is important as the founder of our republic Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, said ' Futurity is in the skies'.
Today, you see that the developments and progresses are in the air and space. The need for pilots will increase fourfold in the next 25 years. Currently, not enough pilot graduates from our pilot schools. Piloting is one of the most beautiful professions in the world. I have 4 sons. I want all my four children to be pilots if they wish. I would like them to know whether they do it as a profession or not, but it is a gold bracelet. "
