​a) To carry out studies on the necessary precautions against possible chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats and dangers on water resources in coordination with the relevant institutions and organizations,

b) To carry out studies on the development of national defense products against threats of possible attacks to water resources,

c) To carry out studies on the development of systems for detection, quantification and monitoring of war agents that are likely to be used in water resources,

d) To develop information infrastructure for the subjects of study field,

 e) To participate in studies to increase the capacity of our country in terms of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defense against hybrid elements,

f) To carry out studies on alternative water resources in coordination with relevant institutions in case of a threat to water resources,

g) To carry out studies on chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear impacts in coordination with the units of Ministry,

h) To prepare measure and implementation plan by providing coordination in the works and processes to be carried out for the cleaning of water resources polluted by the effect of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear in coordination with all relevant institutions and organizations,

i) To maintain relationships between national, regional and international organizations in coordination with the relevant Ministries, to report and to prepare legislation,

j) To follow up and report the national and international studies on issues falling within the scope of working group, to prepare legislation, to prepare guidance documents on required subjects, to give trainings or to have trainings being given,

k) To perform other duties assigned by the head of department.
