​a) To determine principles and targets and to develop strategies and policies in water resources management, in terms of adaptation to climate change, 

b) To carry out research on the impact of internationally accepted climate change scenarios on water resources or to have them made,

c) To conduct research on the impact of climate change on water resources and adaptation measures and to ensure coordination between relevant institutions, 

d) To follow and report the negotiations and studies carried out by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and other international organizations within the scope of adaptation to water resources and climate change, and to contribute to the national policies established within this framework, 

e) To follow up and report national and international studies on the subjects falling within the scope of the Working Group, to prepare legislation and guide documents on required issues, and to provide or have training,

f) To perform other duties assigned by the Head of Department.
