CONTROL DOCUMENT
According to the “Communiqué on Product Safety and Inspection” which is published by Ministry of Trade , live animals and animal products that are or are not subject to a control document have been determined.
The documents to be submitted to the authorized department have been determined by “Communiqué on Control Document for Import of Products Subject to Veterinary Checks and Documents Required to be Submitted at Import Procedures and Principles Related to These Documents(2021/28)”
Application is made to the following Ministry authorities according to the nature of the product in requesting a Control Document;
- General Directorate of Food and Control,
- General Directorate of Animal Husbandry,
- General Directorate of Fisheries and Aquaculture,
- Authorised Provincial Directorates
For those subject to the Control Document, it is mandatory to obtain a Control Document before import.
PRE-NOTIFICATION
The person responsible for the consignment or the importer, with regard to the arrival and the nature of the consignments;
- At least one working day before the estimated time of arrival in the country for animals, before arrival in the country for products is obliged to make a pre-notification.
- The pre-notification is made using the "Veterinary Entry Document (VGB)".
- The original VGB accompanies the consignment to the first destination specified in the document.
VETERINARY CHECKS
Products within the scope of the “Implementing Regulation Governing the Organisation of Veterinary Checks on Products Entering the country from other countries” are subject to veterinary checks upon entry into the country.
Veterinary checks include all kinds of official controls including document, identity and physical checks carried out by the personnel of the veterinary border control point directorate or authorised provincial directorate at the entrance of our country.
Health certificate, control document and other documents are checked.
Label, seal number, health certificate and other documents are matched with the consignment.
The conformity of the product according to related national legislation checked together with all inspections and controls to be carried out during shipment, including packaging, temperature, sampling and laboratory tests.
Animal and animal products approved for import;
- Enter free circulation.
- Shipped to the arrival establishment.
Animal and animal products that are not suitable for import;
- send back
- special treatment
- authorise its use for any purpose other than its primary purpose
- culling and extermination
